Penn State Lehigh faculty member recognized for volunteer work

When not in the classroom at Penn State Lehigh Valley, Kevin Kelley, associate teaching professor and psychology degree program coordinator, can usually be found digging in the dirt or weeding vegetable beds. Kelley is one of two recipients of the Volunteer of the Year award presented by the Easton Neighborhood Center.

Psychology professor leads group to attend global issues forum in Geneva

Equity, inclusion, climate justice and reparations were the top issues discussed at the first Permanent Forum of People of African Descent, organized by the Office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights. Participating in the forum was a team representing the Society of Psychological Study of Social Issues, led by David Livert, Penn State Lehigh Valley professor of psychology.

The Penn State Lehigh Valley Alumni Society will hold its annual “Dance for a Cure” fundraiser to benefit THON on Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Events Center at Shepherds Hill Golf Club in Wescosville. This is the first in-person event since 2020.

Penn State grad Nick Miller sworn in as youngest Pa. senator in 123 years

When Nick Miller left Penn State Lehigh Valley for University Park in 2013, it was with the earned admiration of his professors and a sense that he was quickly emerging as a leader among his peers. Nine years later, the Penn State graduate earned an even greater distinction as the youngest candidate to be elected to the Pennsylvania Senate in more than 123 years.

The evening was set to focus on entrepreneurship and the future of education — but Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi’s energy and charisma definitely doubled as the takeaway from the Penn State Lehigh Valley LaunchBox Ladies Ambassador Circle event on Nov. 16. It was the second time the new president visited the Lehigh Valley campus but the first opportunity most in the audience had to hear her speak.
